If you’re
looking for information about intermarriage, you’ve come
to the right place. I pray you will enjoy your stay. Since the
site will be updated regularly with new information, I encourage
you to come back.
Thanks to
the continued financial support of Leadership 100, together with
Archbishop Demetrios’ pastoral guidance, this ministry is
dedicated to addressing the intermarriage challenge in the Greek
Orthodox Archdiocese (GOA).
Most of the contents
in this site has emerged from my research, workshops and conversations
with hundreds of intermarried spouses and couples who are associated
with the GOA.
Spouses and couples
who are not only from the GOA,
but also from other Orthodox jurisdictions
belonging to SCOBA have reported profiting from this information.
Intermarried
spouses and couples associated with another Metropolis or Archdiocese
that is under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate
have also indicated that they found much of this information relevant
to their needs and challenges.
Spouses and couples
from one of the Oriental Orthodox Churches located in North America
have also informed me that the information in this site was both
valuable and informative.
Many other types of
intermarried spouses and couples have also indicated that they
found the contents both interesting and relevant to their needs.
Clergy, grandparents,
lay workers, seminarians, psychotherapists, marriage and family
scholars and other professionals who, either work with this population,
or have an interest in this subject, have also found the information
in this site beneficial to their work.
If you happen to have
questions or concerns that are not addressed in this site, you
can e-mail them to me at joanidesch@aol.com.
